He is currently involved in the project Best Practice in International Knowledge Sourcing, funded by NESTA, the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts. Undertaken in conjunction with ECOTEC Research and Consulting and Aston University, this research is aimed at understanding and eliciting best practice relating to the international knowledge sourcing practices of small firms in the UK. The study covers: a review of existing evidence and sourcing channels; the nature of channels; the attraction and barriers to international knowledge sourcing; and the scope for government intervention. Nick also remains involved in CURE: Corporate Culture and Regional Embeddedness. Funded by the European Commission in the 6th framework program, at Cardiff University. The overall goal of CURE is to develop a common framework for a better understanding of the processes involved in cultural transmission. CURE, therefore, aims at studying processes of cultural change in order to facilitate understanding of culturally perceived values and practices both, in companies and regions to develop a vision of the regional embedded company and an innovative regional culture (2007-2009). http://www.cure-project.eu/
